I, like most other people, admit to being sceptical about the feasibility and safety of 'shared space' roads (also known as 'home zones'), especially on busy through routes. That is until I watched this short (15 min) documentary about transforming a large and very busy crossroads in Poynton, Cheshire. It is truly inspiring and all council highway officers should watch it!
